I'm no better then you

Isn't it just like our natural carnel mind to think that we are so much better then others?  Its a sad lying trap that we too often get engaged and wrapped up in.

Phili 2:2-4  ² then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. ³ Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, ⁴ not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. 

  I praise God that the one of the biggest things I have learned in the last several years is that I am better then nobody.  The more I love God the more I love his people and the more I realize that I am not above anyone.  I'm so convicted by scripture when it says to view others above yourself.  It says it again in Romans 12:3 I realize how many times in my life have I scene myself better, more righteous, haveing a more important thing to say then others.

Thats not the heart of God at all.  You will never find me in a debate.  I truely believe that only God can change a man's heart and mind it will never be because of my over powering words or my great knowlege of any one topic that a person will decide to have the same beliefs as me.  When walking away from a disagreement I never have grattitude that "oh ya I way out smarted them and now they know that I AM RIGHT"  what a dissatisfieing feeling.  But the most beautiful thing in the world is when God convicts and changes a persons heart.  God doesn't need me to argue and debate his word.  His word is living strong and powerful

Heb 4:12,13 ¹² For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. ¹³ Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

God doesn't need my fancy words to change a person.  Unless I am lead by the Holy Spirit you just won't find me beating a dissagreemtent into the ground.

I just love so much how God's word is ALIVE and ACTIVE and how it moves daily in our lives to help us to understand him more.


With all that being said WOOOHOOOO we just our first snow of the season.

Happy Halloween AkA happy hallows day AKA All Saints Day ;-D

Happy Saints day or as some would call it happy Halloween.  There is a lot of history behind Halloween.  Its not actually the holiday that people think it is (Satan's Birthday) The origination of Halloween was all Hallows Day which is a catholic celebration of all the Saints that have passed away.  As time has evolved much like most holidays it has been a modernized holiday.  In the past Christians would go from door to door begging for "soul cake" square peices of bread with currants on it.  and the more bread they recieved the more prayers they would offer for the saints who had passed away. 
Kinda cool huh Derek and I learned this a few years back.   We always had the traditional/religious mindset of halloween being a "pagan holiday" until we found out what the true original meaning of Halloween was.

Home is where the heart is

Since we have moved away from Seattle the most consistant question we get is... When will you be back.  Well friends the answer is..... More then likely we won't be.  Except for visits of course. 
We truely love it here in New England.  Of course if the Lord called us back we would go.  But that doesn't look like its on the horizon.  Our heart is here with our church and amazing church family.  We have the best friends in the world. 

Besides have you ever been to New England...? No its no tropical paradise But it does have the MOST beautiful seasons That I have ever seen.  look at all those leaves my boys are in!

I do love my friends and family in Seattle though so don't get all crazy like i've totally abandoned you for other people ;-D

Life as I know it

Officially Welcome to my life.

The last two years in a nutshell…… Well at least my version of a nutshell.  So here goes.  We moved to the east coast 2 years ago because the Lord called us here.  Dylan was 9  months old I was already pregnant with baby#2.  We came with no jobs and no place to live just in full obedience and surrender to God to help start a ministry that we would soon grow to adore.  The first 8 months we lived in a great house that the Lord provided for such a reasonable rent for us.  Then we moved into a more permanant house and a month later had our second baby boy Brayden.  They are the loves of my life.  When I think about the last couple years I am awestruck at the provision that God has given to our family.   For 2 years we have watched God give us financial miracle after financial miracle,  and not only that but we have Grown in and leaps and bounds in our relationship and understanding of the Lord.  Its a beautiful thing to become nothing and to let God show you who you really are.
Currently Derek has a really good job, I stay at home with the kids and we are heavily involved with our church Engaging Heaven Center in New London, CT  Our Pastors James and Debbie Levesque are two of our very best friends and we love them so much.  If there is one thing that I have learned over the past several years it is that I may not always see what God is doing but with God every new chapter is more beautiful then the last.
